Year 5 Residential - Liddington '25
Year 5 are all ready and making our way back home to parents. We’re looking forward to seeing you all around 4 o’clock. The Office will provide further updates nearer the time.
Group 2 adventure update - This morning , group 2 took on the trapeze, showing incredible courage and teamwork. Afterwards, we headed in to our Survivor session where everyone learned how to light a campfire and make a tent. Group 2 have certainly had a fantastic few days filled with adventure, teamwork and plenty of smiles!
Group 4 have had a fun morning challenging themselves with abseiling, showing great bravery as they descended the wall. They then challenged themselves with a series of problem solving activities showing great team work.
Group 5 tested our orienteering skills and finished off with abseiling! The children have been brave and have had the most amazing few days!
Group 1 have had a great last morning at the survivor. We worked as a team to create a fire and built a den, we enjoyed applying our forest school skills. Then, we climbed the trapeze and all made a scary jump. We have a great last morning together!
This morning, Group 3 put their minds and bravery to the test at PGL! We tackled exciting problem-solving challenges that required teamwork, communication, and resilience. Everyone showed amazing courage and determination as they worked together to overcome each task. It was an incredible morning filled with encouragement, achievement, and proud smiles all around!
Day 3 - The children had another fantastic sleep and are getting packed and ready for their final activities. Check back soon for our final photos. We will provide a coach update around 1.30.
We have finished our day with a campfire where we sang songs, danced and toasted marshmallows. We are now packing for tomorrow and getting ready for bed after creating some amazing memories!
Groups 1, 3 and 5 have all taken part in canoeing together! We certainly got wet thanks to Mr Gregory, Miss McCallion and Mrs Shaw! We are now getting ready for dinner before beginning our evening activity.
Group 1 have had a fab afternoon problem solving, we put our teamwork and communication skills to the test. It certainly was a challenge!
This afternoon Group 4 took part in canoeing, gliding across the lake with big smiles and lots of teamwork. Afterwards they tried their hand at archery, aiming carefully and cheering each other on as arrows hit the target. A fun afternoon had by all.
This afternoon, group 2 enjoyed an exciting adventure as they took to the water for canoeing (and for some a bit of swimming!) before putting their minds to the test with a series of problem-solving challenges. It was wonderful to see how they encouraged each other, shared ideas, and celebrated every little success along the way.
After lunch, Group 5 had a competition between the group to create a ‘pizza’ from the target board using their archery skills. We had such fun and enjoyed learning new skills #Group5 #PGL
This afternoon, Group 3 had an amazing time at PGL learning the skill of archery! Everyone focused carefully, aimed with determination, and celebrated each successful shot. The children showed fantastic teamwork, encouragement, and perseverance throughout the session.
Group 1 have had a brilliant morning with activities. We started with archery and a game of ‘Pizza’ where we had to score enough points to create our own pizzas and then ALL of us made our way down the abseiling. We have definitely made Mr Gregory proud!
Group 2 had an exciting morning full of adventure! They challenged themselves with abseiling, showing great courage as they descended the wall, and then tested their aim during a session of archery. It was wonderful to see their teamwork and encouragement.
Group 4 had a great morning taking on an exciting challenge of survival skills and the trapeze. They worked together to build shelters and problem solve in the great outdoors before facing their fears on the trapeze.
This morning, Group 3 had a fantastic time learning survival skills at PGL! We built different types of tents, learnt how to make a fire safely and even conquered our fears while abseiling and reached new heights. Everyone showed great teamwork, resilience and determination throughout the activities. It was an exciting and memorable start to the day!
Group 5 have had an eventful morning taking our turn on the Giant Swing and Survivor. The Giant Swing took a lot of courage and bravery whilst Survivor challenged the children’s knowledge gained during forest school and their ability to make a successful shelter. #Group5 #WeAreTheBest!
Day 2 - All children slept well and are getting ready for an action packed day! Check back soon to see our photos.
We have had the best time at our silent disco, this evening! We had a delicious dinner and danced all evening. We are now settling down for bed. See you again tomorrow for a full day of action-packed activities.
Group 5 had an exciting first afternoon taking part in a Problem Solving activity and Trapeze. They challenged themselves and worked incredibly well as a team.
Group 2 and 4 joined together to do some orienteering followed by the giant swing. They showed great team work and enthusiasm. Many of them overcame their fear of heights but the activities were enjoyed by all!
Group 1 and 3 joined together for some orienteering. They showed excellent team working and problem solving skills. Well done all!!
Group 1 has also had a great afternoon tackling the giant swing! We have challenged ourselves and faced our fears with reaching new heights.
Group 3 had lots of fun on the giant swing. Miss McCallion and Mr Elliot joined in, which the children laughed a little too loud !!!
