BLOG Year 6 Residential Trip 2023

Good evening all, we are on course to arrive at Foster’s at around 18:45. We are all looking forward to seeing you all soon!

26/06/2023 - 2.00pm

We have now departed the centre after our final activities this morning. The children have had an amazing time and the staff commended the children and staff for their engagement, positive attitudes and motivational quotes across the week.

Further updates of our arrival will be shared once we have completed the ferry crossing, so please do check regularly.

23/06/2023 - 7.30am

The children are all packed and the room inspections begin. Soon, we are off for breakfast before our final two activities, including Aeroball and problem solving.

All of the children are very much looking forward to seeing everyone on their return.

Final night! Tonight we finished our evening activities with a disco. We all sang and danced the whole time. Children are now packing in their rooms before settling down to bed.

22/06/2023 - 6.00pm

The children have had an adrenaline-filled afternoon session of abseiling, rock climbing and more children playing laser tag - for some reason, they were intent of getting Mr Elliott!

The children are now off to their final dinner of the trip before getting ready for the disco this evening.

22/06/2023 - 1.00pm

A mixture of vertical challenge, giant swing, orienteering and laser tag so far this morning. The children have built up an appetite for lunch before two more activities this afternoon. However, we are already getting questions about the disco, so we are looking forward to witnessing the dance moves.

22/06/2023 - 10.00am

The children are up and about this morning, confronting many fears. We have already had several children overcome their fear of heights on the vertical challenge, with lots of motivational chants, encouragement and advice. As a result, the smiles are radiating and the sun is shining. We are in for a warm, sunny day ahead of the disco this evening.

Tonight we had another full dinner and started the evening with a sing song. Then our evening activity was archery tag, which involved us playing archery in teams. We then had some free time in our cabins and some children chose to play basketball with some teachers. We are all now starting to settle in our rooms and get ready for bed.

This afternoon children have continued to complete activities including:Jacobs ladder, giant swing , survivor, matrix and sensory trail! Now we are enjoying a little time in their rooms before enjoying our dinner!

21/06/23 - 1.00pm

After breakfast we got stuck straight in to our morning activities. Most of us have had The Matrix where we solved lots of problems using the clues to escape the different rooms. We have also had the Sensory Trail where some of us got very muddy! Lots of us kept the blind folds on the whole time. Some of us have also had Aeroball which was great fun and Vertical Challenge where many of us were able to get to the top! We have also been to the shop and spent our money and we are now having some relaxed time before heading for lunch!

21/06/2023 - 8:45am

The children are fully fuelled after a big breakfast and ready for the morning activities. Some of the activities include sensory trails, The Matrix and Aeroball. Several of the children are yawning away but the activities will be sure to wake them up. Pictures to follow at lunchtime.

20.06.23 8.30pm

We have just spent the evening being very active and enjoying lots of team games in the PGL Tournament. We also had a game of football where most of us joined in!

We are spending time in our rooms now and getting ready for bed ahead of a well deserved night of rest. We are all very excited for more activities tomorrow!

We have carried on some fun activities this afternoon where the rest of us went down to the sunny beach to canoe whilst some of us did survivor, orienteering, climbing and Mr Pelaez’s group were the first group to brave the giant swing!

Our first full day has been very busy and so we are having some downtime in our cabins now before dinner. After dinner, we will have another activity called PGL tournament where we will play lots of sports activities! Our teachers are hoping we sleep well tonight after such a busy day!!!

Some children have done some climbing this morning and completed a survivor task, which involved them working as a team to make shelters and fire.

This morning we have woken up to some rain but started the day with a full breakfast. The children will be canoeing at some point today as well as rock climbing and survivor.
